Process

I begin by researching old role playing books from the 70s and sampling similar colors used on their covers. I decided only to use a few colors to evoke the cheap printing of the first Dungeons & Dragons booklets. From there I focused on designing each page around its typography. The layout was mainly inspired by newsletters, magazines, and the format of original role playing books. The first two pages are meant to work either folded to show them together or separately.
